Sailing on Florida’s West Coast is alive and well, and sailing options are plentiful. During a recent trip to St. Petersburg I took an ASA sailing course through Simple Sailing Charters and Sales. What I discovered was that Saint Petersburg is one of the nation’s sailing capitals. After years of a down economy, Simple Sailing has stepped in to fill product gaps, left by a down economy, in the St. Petersburg Sailing Industry. Simple Sailing has the largest company owned sailing fleet on Florida’s West Coast. They are really a sailing solution as they are a Hunter dealer, an ASA Sailing School, an affordable boat club, a sailboat broker, a captained charter company, and they offer bareboat chartering. For a sailor Simple Sailing is a one-stop shop to take advantage of St. Petersburg sailing.
St. Petersburg Sailing Options
During my sailing school, I discovered the beauty of Florida’s West Coast. I also was introduced to a St. Petersburg sailing company with a broad menu of sailing options. As a Hunter Dealer, Simple Sailing provides affordable sailing solutions, from Hunter’s trailerable sailboats to Hunter’s legendary 27′ keelboat. Their brokerage division offers used Hunter sailboats of any length. Their ASA School provides a want-to-be sailor many ways to get on the water quickly. I am considering all of my options, since I can buy a new or used Hunter sailboat, manufactured by Hunter Marine. I can use it personally or place it into Simple Sailing’s fleet for charter, sailing school or boat club. This would allow me to own a boat and also pay for its expenses through a shared revenue program. If I want to sail without the responsibility of ownership I can join Simple Sailing’s boat club for the same monthly cost of paying for a slip. I can sail as a boat club member for an unlimited number of times per year. I can also opt to charter a boat periodically using my student discount. All in all, I am impressed that I have found St. Petersburg sailing and the total sailing solution at Simple Sailing.
St. Petersburg Sailing School Recommendation
My recommendation for anyone taking an ASA sailing course is to take it in a sailing capital like Saint Petersburg, on Florida’s West Coast. I would also recommend that you seek a school that has the resources to help you continue developing your newly acquired sailing skills. Having many options to get back on the water, can help you decide the extent of financial commitment and sailing commitment that best suits your own personal needs. Personally, I have chosen Simple Sailing Sailing Club. It is an inexpensive solution to unlimited sailing to further my sailing education. See you on the Florida’s West Coast’s water, and have fun with St. Petersburg Sailing.
